In the 1998 election voters in 5 states and the District of Colombia approved measures to legalize the use of medical marijuana. Medical marijuana initiatives have passed every time that they were on ballots, and always by clear majorities.

Imagine if voters in all 50 states were able to vote on this issue...and if politicians actually heeded the calls of their constituents.
